Becca Webster...That's one of rockcrawling's most known names, male or female. A number of National victories under her belt, the first W.E.ROCK World RockCrawling Invitational Champion, and one of the most fearless people in extreme motorsports, she not only can drive a rockcrawler, she can drive a crowd wild! |

Becca's beginnings in sports was as a young gymnast, training near her home in Santee, CA. She became an accomplished Elite Level Gymnast and went on to coach her Alma Mater High School during a record-breaking CIF championship winning streak and accepting honors as Coach of the Year for all Southern California high school coaches in all sports. Her skills as a technical coach and motivator sure paid off. |

Red Bull's Rock Diva, Becca Webster didn't get her Rock Diva title
exclusively from her passion and skill in rockcrawling. She actually
has an exciting background in another rock related extreme sport, Cliff
Diving. Yes, as in Acapulco Cliff Diving! Becca was one of the top
talents in the world, male or female, and is one of the select few women to
ever take the huge leap from the top of the famous "La Quebrada" cliffs down
in Mexico. Check out the following photo of one of her big dives...a flying reverse (gainer) somersault. Becca was one of the few to perform such a difficult dive from those cliffs! |

Starting her career as a Professional Athlete at the age of 19, Becca joined the U.S. High Diving Team where she would travel the world doing live high diving shows, cliff diving demonstrations, and competing at the highest level of competition. During her cliff diving years, she was somewhat on the "outside" of the sport. Although she was one of the top ranked high divers in the world, she was mostly restricted to exhibition only, versus being allowed to compete against the men. The reason? Well, a large number of the cliff divers were from Latin countries and although they appreciated Becca's skill, they asked she be excluded from events. They did this because of regional disgrace they would have when they returned from a competition where they were beaten by a woman. It was initially tough for Becca to swallow, but after traveling to many of their countries, she got a taste of what MACHISIMO truly is. She understood their position and respected the problem even though she was missing out on titles she could win. She simply kept training for that one day when she'd get her chance. Eventually it came in the Acapulco Cliff Diving Championships where she competed and captured a Silver Medal in the individual competition and a Gold Medal in the Team Competition. Becca went on to repeat that again in 04, but those were the only times she was allowed to compete. Cliff Diving fulfilled Becca's life, the travels and experiences were unforgettable, and the people in the sport became life-long friends. Just a few days into Becca's Cliff Diving career, she met Dustin Kielty, another cliff diver who was also on the US team. The two fell in love and traveled the world together doing shows, competitions, and eventually took the plunge into marriage from the top from a 70 foot tall platform on a high dive training ladder at Magic Mountain near Los Angeles, California. Dustin took Becca's last name if you were wondering ;-) |

The cliff diving adrenaline ultimately led to an even more extreme life, performing live stunts in front of millions of people over a few years. Prat falls, dives and purposeful crashes into the water from 80 feet in the air, full body burns while riding a Jet Ski, high falls, trapeze, trampoline, and tumbling stunts, Becca's pretty much done it all, including being one of the few people in the world doing over 500 full-body burns...talk about HOTTT! |

Becca was bitten by the rockcrawling bug in 2002. A day before her first competition rockcrawling experience, she'd never even seen a competition...not in person, not on video, and she had no real clue what it was all about. In fact, she didn't even know she was competing. Becca's husband, Dustin, explained on the drive from their home in Santee (San Diego) to Cedar City, Utah, that the weekend's event would be quite exciting...truly, it'd be an amazing personal experience for Becca as she was unknowingly entered into the Women's National Championships of RockCrawling. Becca was not amused but agreed to give it a try because really, they were already signed up, already paid up, and already over half-way there ;-) With just a few minutes of practice in the parking lot, her spotter, Frank Johnson led her to a first day lead in the Women's National Championships. On day 2, the team suffered a mechanical breakdown that took them out of the event with a full course yet to go. With a strong lead at that point, their score was high enough to give them second place in this prestigious event. Not a bad start to an amazing career! |

Becca and Frank competed the rest of 02 and all of 2003 in the Red Bull / Pro Comp Tires Jeep CJ7 in the stock modified class. This gave Becca the opportunity to learn the ropes of the sport while competing in a vehicle many of our sponsors and fans could relate to. It was an exciting year FOR SURE!!! In the spring of 2004, just 21 days before the UROC Rockcrawling series was scheduled to kick off, we found out that UROC would not include the stock modified class for that season. This was a last minute MAJOR problem but with the support of Red Bull, Pro Comp Tires, and a fabricator named Ryan Kennelly, we concocted an insane plan to build Becca a brand new "Legends" rockcrawler. FYI, Legends ultimately grew into the Pro Modified class. It was three weeks of hell but I can say that without the help of MANY, we never would have pulled this off. Ryan Kennelly was our hero and fabricated an amazing crawler, Danny Grimes of GrandPa's Garage kept everything on track, Dirty Dave Ince created a new bodyset that would fit the chassis design, and endless hours in the shop produced what would become one of the most recognizable rockcrawlers in the world, the Red Bull RockHer. |

Becca and Frank competed in the Pro National Division in 22 different events that year and placed 4th overall in the largest of the series. Even with a few mechanical issues they faced plus some bad luck on an obstacle or two, the team pretty much always reached the podium. Their popularity grew quickly and the media they garnered placed them far above all other teams in competition when you consider that in a single year, Becca and Frank captured over 200 million impressions worldwide. Documentaries on Univision (Latin programming), Rai (Italy), the BBC (UK), and Discovery Sattellite came on a regular basis, and the list truly goes on and on and on, putting the Red Bull Rockcrawling team over one-billion media impressions to date. Talk about bang-for-the-buck in TV coverage! |

One of the biggest memories that came in the RockHer was Becca and Frank competing at the first SuperCrawl that took place in Salt Lake City, Utah. The obstacle that everyone feared was nicknamed the Matterhorn and the first 8 vehicles to attempt it either rolled or broke within 20 feet of the start line. Becca lined up for the insane climb and nailed it on her second attempt. Vehicle after vehicle came after Becca, knowing she made the steepest climb ever, but all failed to conquer the climb. After literally hundreds of attempts by others, the RockHer remained the only vehicle to make it...Becca and Frank were the heroes of the day. As a side note, finally, the last team to give the Matterhorn a try were Brian and Joachem in their Twisted Customs Legends crawler. Last to go, and one of two to make that climb...too bad it was in the middle of the night with no crowd there to see their success. |

Each winter, Becca and Dustin Webster would load up her crawler and head off to the Pro Rock Women's National Championships. We've already covered what happened in Becca's first try at the nationals, which was her first event ever, but worthy of noting is that since then, Becca has gone undefeated in that event, taking the national title in not only the Stock Modified class, but also the SuperStock Class (Pro Modified) and the Trophy Class (Unlimited) She's the only person in any series to win national titles in three classes. |

In late 2005, Becca and Dustin hopped a flight to Australia where they were invited to drive a HaulTec built moonbuggy in the first ever, W.E.ROCK World RockCrawling Invitational. The team arrived a week early and spent a number of days tuning the buggy, getting to know it's capabilities, and looking over the courses carefully. In the middle of the week, Dustin came to the realization that the team worked best when Becca was behind the wheel. Although they were scheduled to trade off driving duties, the team recognized the large difficulty of the obstacles and the scale of the climbs and knew for sure, that Becca would handle them well...along with making sure the vehicle and course strategy was nailed, Becca driving / Dustin spotting became the main strategy. The professionalism paid off as the team was able to beat out a number of the best rockcrawling teams in the world in the Unlimited finals and came home with the championship trophy. We must admit, winning that title was a big thing for us but it didn't even come close to matching the fun we had spending time with all of our new Aussie rockcrawling friends! |

Becca's dabbled outside of rockcrawling as well, including competing the the XRRA RockRacing series. In a number of events over the 2005, 2006, and 2007 rockcrawling season, the team also gave the fast stuff a try and performed very consistently. Although the budget and time schedule didn't really allow full dedication to the sport, which is a must if you want to do well, Becca proved she could compete well among the best rockracers in the world. |

In early 2006, Becca's main competition vehicle, the RockHer 1 was beginning to show its age. The courses of that time were getting tighter and more technical so a new vehicle was in order. A close friend of ours, Rob "Bender" Park came to us with the idea to build a brand new competition crawler dubbed the Phantom. It would be a chassis that could work amazingly well in a competition environment, but also cross over as an amazing trailrig. Bender, working together with Dan DuBose, Matt Walton, James Schofield, and Mike Foster of Blue Torch Fabworks came up with an amazing machine that could fit ANY engine, transmission, transfer case, axle, and suspension layout. It had a comfortable cab and a real pickup bed, yet was nimble and well balanced so it would turn into a viable competitor. It's debut was at the 2006 W.E.ROCK Grand National RockCrawling Championships where it took 2nd place...then a few weeks later, another second place in the W.E.ROCK World Championships. The 3 weeks later, Becca captured her 5th Women's National Championship title competing not against her class, but stepping up to compete against the Unlimiteds...obviously the RockHer II that Bender, Blue Torch Fabworks, and Dallas built, WORKED!!! |

Back on the RockRacing subject, in 2007, Becca was invited to drive against
some of the best Desert Racers, RockRacers, and RockCrawlers in a new event
known as the King of the Hammers Ultimate Desert Race. The event was truly
high action offroad on steroids...44 miles of desert racing with whoops,
silt, sandhill climbs, dry lakebed speed section, river washes, and then 13
miles of hardcore trailruns in the world famous Hammer Trails in Johnson
Valley, California. 10 days before the race, the fabrication team of Dustin, Suspension Tech Ryan Kennelly, Crew Chief Dallas Ashley, Brake Tech Blaine Johnson, Becca's father Ed Webster, and an army of volunteers picked up a stock Jepp TJ out of a wrecking yard. In 10 days, that beat up Jeep was transformed into a race vehicle and ws finished literally minutes before crossing the start line. Well, by finished, I mean running... What an experience that was as Becca was blazing fast in the desert sections, and handled the abusive trails as everyone would expect. Even without finishing, the project proved to be a huge success as even those close to our team said we'd never even cross the start line, yet halfway through the race, Becca was sitting in 11th place. |

You should know that outside of extreme rocksports, Becca somehow finds the time to lead an amazing life. Life in the San Diego area means she can be outdoors all year with the amazing weather, spend time at the beach when she fells like it, hit the ski slopes in nearby Big Bear where she enjoys snowboarding and skiing, make a quick trip to the river or to Glamis for a weekend of fun...in short, for her life is good. But here's why it's better than just good, life is GREAT because of her amazing family. Becca's two sons, Garet (14) and Chase (11) are great students, enjoy sports and the outdoors (especially wheeling), and truly are respectful, well behaved, and outgoing.not to mention a little crazy, just like their parents! ;-) |

Becca's extended family lives nearby and are the world's greatest support system. Her Mom and Dad (Linda and Ed Webster) stand behind the team and do whatever they can to see Becca has the opportunities to build her own success story. Take note of how that's written, the help her help herself, and that means every victory is earned with integrity and that Becca has the support group that instills values, confidence, and pride in the team. Becca's Brother and Sister-in-law, Greg and Shaunna, as well as her Aunt Debbie, and her Nana Joyce also live close by and without their love and support, there is no way Becca would have found the time and family support to live her life as a professional athlete AND a mother. Nothing but thanks and appreciation go out to Becca's wonderful family. Well, that's a pretty long bio on Becca, but trust me, her story is far more exciting that what's posted here. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to her as she's the kind of person that enjoys meeting people and having a great time. And FYI, sometimes a great time means letting your hair down and getting silly, right?!?!? |
